My Floors Worst Enemy:
Swiffer Wet Jet
Empty Solution Container
Floor Cleaner

Microfiber Towel

After doing the boiling water hack to open my empty Wet Jet container, I filled it with half hot water and half floor cleaner. I then screwed back on the Wet Jet containers cap as tight as I could get it.
Floor solution refill....check!
Now onto the super simple pads...
I laid the microfiber towel over the bottom of my Swiffer to see where I needed to cut the towel to make it fit. I left a little extra for a seam so the towel wont unravel when I'm using it.
I then cut the side of the towel which was attached to the Velcro on the top of my Swiffer, again leaving extra for a seam.
I then took the towel off of the Swiffer and flipped over the extra that I had left so I could sew the seams.
It doesn't have to be pretty, I mean it is just going to be used to clean the dirt off of your floor!
Pad refills....check!
Like I said the microfiber sticks right onto the Velcro so that is all I needed to do to make the spare pads. If you want it to be really super secure you could always sew Velcro pieces onto the towel pads that will stick to the Velcro on the Swiffer.
Ready....Set....Clean!
Microfiber cloths do an amazing job at getting the smallest of spots cleaned. You're right about them being a messy floor's worst enemy. Hahaha! Anyway, thanks for sharing your floor routine with us, Lindsey! It's honestly a great way to get rid of them dirty floors. All the best to you! :)

Yes! I love my Swiffer WetJet too. What an amazing creation this thing turned out to be. Who knew that such a simple little device could work so well? I never thought to buy supplies from The Dollar Tree, though. I always just assumed that they would be too cheap to work effectively. I guess different things work for different people.

How did you get the cap off of the Swiffer Wet Jet Solution? You mentioned a hot water hack, but didn't say where this is located.

Hi Sandra - I discovered this on another site... Hope it helps you!
ReplyDeleteSet a pan of water on the stove and bring it to a boil. Leave the pan on the stove, but turn off the burner.
Carefully hold your empty Swiffer Wet Jet bottle upside down and dunk it into the water until the whole cap and just a little bit of the bottle are submerged.
Hold it there for up to 90 seconds.
Using a hot pad holder, grip and twist the lid and it will come right off.
The hot water softens the tiny plastic nubs that hold that lid on for dear life, and just enough to let you twist it off without damage.
CAUTION: Don’t try to cut those nubs off to make it easier next time—that will make it leak like a sieve!
